Licence

Q.  Do I need a licence to keep a reptile?

A.  You do not need a licence to keep most common reptiles, however some reptiles that are venomous, are considered a higher risk, are protected species or that have special status may need to be licensed. If you are unsure, ask a member of our team who will confirm whether you need a licence for a specific breed of animal. 

What size
enclosure?

Q.  Are there regulations on the size of enclosure I keep, display or transport my animals in?

 

A.  Recently changes to legislation mean that there are now regulations on enclosure sizes you now have to have available to stock animals for trade or to keep them for professional purposes. What should I
be feeding my reptiles?

Q.  How do I know if I am feeding my animals the correct diet, where can I learn about supplements, recommended food and feeding routines?

A.  We have produced some guides which you can print which give you some guidelines on the recommended diets for some of the most commonly kept reptiles. However, we are aware that sometimes you need much more detailed information, or that you may have an animal not on our list, if that's the case drop us a message and we will be happy to chat with you about what food you should be using, stocking and recommending. 

How do I market my animals?

Q.  I am a breeder/trader in reptiles, but I don't know how I market my businesses or advertise my animals, can you give me advice and recommendations?

A.  See our marketing guide for more information on how to successfully increase your sales, whilst ensuring you are only selling animals to the right people in the right way. We have tried to include as many hints an tips as possible, with a list of ways you can market your business.
